Everything about plans, building trips, and planning with your group.
Getting started
What is tripcoord?+
tripcoord is an AI travel planner that turns a few details about your trip into a complete day-by-day itinerary — with activities, food spots, photo spots, and practical notes. It's also where the trip lives afterward: invite your group, vote on plans, split expenses, build packing lists, and keep it all in one place.
Is it just for groups?+
Not at all. tripcoord works great solo — itineraries, prep, layovers, and your travel map are all yours alone. The group tools are right there for when you want them.
Is there a tripcoord app? Do I need to download anything?+
Nope — and that's on purpose. tripcoord is a web app, so there's nothing to download or update: sign in from any browser and your trips are right there. Being web-based means everyone sees the exact same thing no matter what they're on — handy for the classic split iPhone-and-Android household — and you can plan on the big screen (we know how millennials feel about making big decisions on a laptop). You can also start on your work computer, tweak from your phone at the airport, and check details from a tablet in the hotel — it all stays in sync. And because there's no app store in the middle, new features and fixes reach everyone instantly. Want it one tap away? Add it to your home screen: on iPhone, open tripcoord.ai in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen; on Android, open it in Chrome → menu (⋮) → Add to Home screen. As we grow we'll keep weighing other ways to access tripcoord based on what's actually best for travelers.
How does the AI build my itinerary?+
You tell us where you're going, your dates, who's coming, your budget, and what you care about (history, food, nightlife, etc.). The AI plans each day and we verify every place against Google so you're not sent to a venue that doesn't exist or has moved.
Plans, pricing & credits
Is it free to start?+
Yes. You can create an account and plan a trip on the free plan — no credit card required. A Trip Pass covers one big trip; Travel Pro is a subscription for people who travel more often.
What are AI credits?+
Credits are what building or regenerating an itinerary costs. The free plan includes enough credits for one full trip build per month. A Trip Pass adds a pool of credits for one trip (a build plus a regeneration and some small tweaks). Travel Pro includes a larger monthly pool — up to four full builds a month.
Trip Pass or Travel Pro — which do I want?+
Taking one big trip this year? A Trip Pass is perfect — pay once, six travelers are included on that trip, and extra seats are $4 each with no cap. Planning several trips a year? Travel Pro keeps everything unlocked all year and works out cheaper per trip.
Do my friends need to pay?+
No — everyone you invite can vote and chat for free on any trip, and see the whole itinerary. The premium group tools (split expenses with settle-up, split-track days, and the AI packing list, phrasebook & receipt scanner) unlock one of two ways: a Trip Pass on the trip — one purchase opens them for your whole crew, no one else pays — or each person on their own Travel Pro plan.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?+
No. You only enter payment details if you choose to buy a Trip Pass or subscribe to Travel Pro.
Building & editing trips
How long can my trip be?+
Up to 7 days on the free plan, and up to 14 days with a Trip Pass or Travel Pro. If your dates are longer than your plan allows, the builder will ask you to shorten the trip or upgrade before it builds.
Can I plan a trip across multiple cities?+
Yes. Enter a region (a state or country) and your build will automatically route a multi-stop trip — included on every plan. Hand-picking specific individual cities is a Trip Pass and Travel Pro feature.
What if I already booked flights or a hotel?+
Add your booking details — or drop in a travel-agent PDF or confirmation email — and tripcoord builds the itinerary around them, using your hotel as home base and planning the last day around your return flight.
Can I edit the itinerary after it builds?+
Yes. You can add and remove activities, regenerate, add days, and rearrange your trip. Changes save automatically.
The build is taking a few minutes — is that normal?+
Yes. We build in the background and double-check every stop is real, open, and near where you'll be — that's worth a few minutes. You'll be notified in the app the moment it's ready, so there's no need to refresh or hit regenerate (doing so can spend credits and interrupt the build).
What's the difference between flexible dates and specific dates?+
Specific dates build your itinerary for those exact days. Flexible dates are for when you're not locked in yet — pick a month range and we'll plan a sample itinerary anchored to the start of that range so you can picture the trip. One heads-up: because you'll regenerate once you set real dates (which uses credits), a Trip Pass isn't the best fit for a still-undecided trip — go with specific dates first if you can.
I used flexible dates — why isn't my trip showing as active or complete?+
A flexible-date trip stays in “planning” until you confirm specific dates — it covers a whole month range, so there's no single set of days to mark active or complete yet. The itinerary defaults to the start of the range you picked, so when you know your real dates, edit the trip to those exact days and regenerate — that way the plan and the weather line up, and the status tracks normally from there (active during the trip, completed after you return).
Planning with a group
How do I invite people?+
Open your trip, go to the group hub, and invite by email or share the invite link. They get a link to join — they create a free profile in under a minute, and inviting people is free.
What can my group do together?+
Vote on activities, chat, and build a shared packing list — free for everyone on the trip. With a Trip Pass on the trip (or your own Travel Pro), the crew also gets split expenses with settle-up, split-track days where different people do their own thing and reconvene for dinner, and the AI tools (packing, phrasebook, receipt scan).
Your account & data
Is my data private?+
Your trips are private to you and the people you invite. We never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
How do I reset my password?+
On the login screen, choose "Forgot password" and we'll email you a reset link.
How do I get more help?+
Head to Settings → Help & Support and send us a message — we typically reply within a couple of days, and Travel Pro tickets are prioritized.
